This Map Shows the Average Income of the Top 1% by Location

Interesting map.  Anyone know much about this?  I was surprised a bit by the strength of the midwest.  From Texas all the way to North Dakota.  Texas has oil but what supports the rest of the midwest?  The left and right seaboard concentrations are not surprising.  Most of them are the major urban, metropolises.  Fairfax County,Va, right outside Washington DC, was not in the top ten.  I thought it would be.  Lots of money in South Fla.  Retirement money?  But, that's not income.  What do you think?
