Islamists are rising in America while we sleep

Islamists are rising in America while we sleep - Allen B. West - AllenBWest.com:

"It’s simple, we have become so damn politically correct that a vile organization that was an unindicted co-conspirator in the largest Islamic terrorist funding case in America can thumb its nose and by intimidation and coercion deny free speech and freedom of expression in our country. We have fallen under the spell of the bumper sticker “coexist” and have failed to heed the lessons of history.

What is even worse, we have failed to even take this enemy — yep, I mean it –enemy to heart for what they have openly stated their objective to be. Just read the Strategic Memorandum discovered in 1991 if you still have any doubts.

However, most importantly, we have seen a class of political cowards who castigate those of us who recognize this enemy as “Islamophobes” and “extremists.”

Obamacare Manager Sebelius Leaves In Disgrace - The American Interest:

"The usual cheerleaders have been waving the pompoms over the grand success of Obamacare ever since the law passed the seven million enrollment mark, though that milestone may not be all it’s cracked up to be. And if things are going so well, why isn’t Secretary Sibelius leaving on a high note? She presided over Obamacare’s glittering success, after all. The fact is, the White House is so exuberant over the dramatic success of its signature health care law that the woman who managed the process is being driven out of her job. That should tell you all you need to know about what the White House really thinks about how Obamacare is doing.

Heck of a first paragraph

Heck of a first paragraph:

Great job. Kevin D. Williamson, "The Liberal Gulag":

The word “liberal” has taken a beating over the last few days: A Mozilla executive was hounded out of his position at the firm he co-founded by a coalition of IRS criminals and left-wing campaigners resolved to punish him for having made a donation to a successful California ballot initiative that defined marriage in traditional terms; Adam Weinstein, whose downwardly mobile credibility has taken him from ABC to Gawker, called for literally imprisoning people with the wrong views about global warming, writing, “Those malcontents must be punished and stopped”; Mr. Weinstein himself was simply forwarding a dumbed-down-enough-for-Gawker version of the arguments of philosophy professor Lawrence Torcello; Katherine Timpf, a reporter for Campus Reform, faced a human barricade to keep her from asking questions of those attending a feminist leadership conference, whose organizers informed her that the group was “inclusive” and therefore she was “not welcome here”; Charles Murray, one of the most important social scientists of his generation, was denounced as a “known white supremacist” by Texas Democrats for holding heterodox views about education policy; national Democrats spent the week arguing for the anti-free-speech side of a landmark First Amendment case and the anti-religious-freedom side of a case involving the Religious Freedom Restoration Act; Lois Lerner, the Left’s best friend at the IRS, faces contempt charges related to her role in the Democrats’ coopting the IRS as a weapon against their political enemies; Harry Reid, a liberal champion of campaign-finance reform, was caught channeling tens of thousands of dollars to his granddaughter while conspicuously omitting her surname, which is also his surname, from official documents, cloaking the transaction, while one of his California colleagues, a liberal champion of gun control, was indicted on charges of running guns to an organized-crime syndicate.

The Market For Common Sense

Belmont Club » The Market For Common Sense:

How come Kerry couldn’t see this coming? The real shocker is that, after everything that had gone before, the Obama administration actually expected this to work, just as Nicolas Maduro thinks that fingerprinting Venezuelan supermarket buyers will put food on the shelves. Pardon my skepticism, but it probably won’t. However, that’s beside the point. The real head scratcher is why they thought it would work at all?
One possible answer is that once a ruling elite buys into a paradigm then all solutions have to be found within the paradigm space.  It’s useless to argue ‘why doesn’t Venezuela leave the producers alone’ because that option is not on the table within the terms of their mental system. The only levers Venezuela actually has are the ones they allow themselves to consider. They have hired millions of bureaucrats to implement their price control system and that’s all they can do. To accept price controls are a failure is to accept they and all their useless functionaries are failures and to dismantle themselves.
That’s never going to happen while a single Venzuelan Boliver remains left to debase. Similarly the Obama administration’s foreign policy model cannot be fixed except within its own terms of reference. They know — like the Chavistas — that they’re always going to be re-elected, perhaps not only in spite of their failures but in some sense because of them. So this is not the end of the Mideast Peace Process. Rather, it can only the beginning.  Abbas and Putin know this for a dead cert: that Kerry will be back, so they’re going to bilk old JFK for all he’s worth.
Which only goes to show that perhaps Chavez was right after all. Perhaps there is no Law of Supply and Demand. If there were a homo economicus, if the rational actor of market theory really existed, then neither Obama nor Chavez would even be elected. Those who criticize president Obama’s lack of belief in American exceptionalism should look at the counterargument from his point of view. ‘If America is so exceptional then how come I am president?’ The real problem with believing in the Law of Supply and Demand is accounting for the existence of an apparently endless market for stupidity.

The Fascist States of America

The Z Blog › The Fascist States of America:

"I’ve mentioned a few times that the Obama administration has been doing, with reckless abandon, what Nixon was merely accused of doing, in the articles of impeachment drawn up by Congress. If you want to measure how far down the pit of fascism we have fallen, ponder that for a second. Nixon was forced out because he contemplated doing that which we associated with authoritarianism. Today, the mass media celebrates a President using the IRS as a political weapon, conducting political prosecutions, spying on the citizens and refusing to enforce the people’s laws.

Williamson is one guy so I’m not getting my hopes up about the Right. The only way to dig out the fanatics from the culture is through the rough methods of revolution. I don’t see that happening in my lifetime. Instead, we will stagger on toward a soft, feminine fascism. Heretics will be exiled to the fringes of life, but not thrown into camps. A sort or weird and semi-violent Shakerism amongst whites will eventually give way to a Latin authoritarianism as the white population is over run my Hispanic peasants from the south.

Government Power and Evil

Sultan Knish: Government Power and Evil:

"Evil finds heavy firepower appealing, but the firepower works both ways.

A world where the peasants have assault rifles is a world where peasant no longer means a man without any rights. And while it may also mean the occasional brutal shooting spree, those sprees tend to happen in the outposts of utopia, the gun-free zones with zero tolerance for firearms. An occasional peasant may go on a killing spree, but a society where the peasants are all armed is also far more able to stop such a thing without waiting for the men-at-arms to be dispatched from the castle.

An armed society spends more time stopping evil than contemplating it. It is the disarmed society that is always contemplating it as a thing beyond its control.

Helpless people must find something to think about while waiting for their kings and princes to do something about the killing. Instead of doing something about it themselves, they blame the freedom that left the killer free to kill, instead of the lack of freedom that prevented them from being able to stop him.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: A Toxic Workplace Begets Toxic Policies For Consumers

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau: A Toxic Workplace Begets Toxic Policies For Consumers:

"Each of these stories, whether seemingly mundane self-dealing or regulatory imperialisA recent report conducted through internal investigation at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) found multiple instances of employee discrimination and harassment. Investigator Misty Raucci claimed, “I found that the general environment in Consumer Response is one of exclusion, retaliation, discrimination, nepotism, demoralization, devaluation, and other offensive working conditions which constitute a toxic workplace for many of its employees.”
Oh if a toxic workplace was the extent of the problem with the CFPB. But apparently this just shows things are as bad on the inside as the “toxic” policies being thrust upon the market on the outside. Be it a shrinking mortgage market, reduced access to credit card services, or the forced removal of much of the auto lending trade, the CFPB has certainly made its mark in waging war on consumers.
So just how did this agency become capable of spewing toxic policies from an apparently toxic work environment? The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau was established as part of the Dodd-Frank Financial Reform legislation. Premised on the notion that undue influence by Wall Street corrupted public officials in the years preceding the crash, the agency is vested with unprecedented power and independence from public oversight by Congress, the President, or anyone else. Virtually all of the typical levers of control over governmental bureaucracies are absent. It is structured as a bureau within the Federal Reserve, but its rulemaking and litigation are not accountable in anyway to the Federal Reserve Board.
Furthermore, rather than being headed by a bipartisan commission (as is the Federal Trade Commission), the CFPB is headed by a single director. And while it is not uncommon for federal departments to be headed by a single person, such as a cabinet secretary, the director of the CFPB cannot be fired by the President, but serves a five-year term and is removable only for cause, such as malfeasance or dereliction of duty. At the same time, the bureau has the power to regulate virtually every term of every consumer credit product in America.m and dismissing the costs of its regulations, point to a common denominator: an out-of-control agency, drunk on its own power and insufficiently attentive to the impact its mandates are having on the consumers that it claims to represent. It seems that it is the interests of the agency itself, not the consumers it claims to represent, that is animating its toxic decisions.

The Propaganda is Blatantly Obvious for Those Willing to Look : Freedom Outpost:

"The truth is that both political parties have strayed so far from what this nation was intended to be that as long as we continue to keep our debate enclosed within the realm of these two parties, we lose. You will have to forgive me but once again I am going to put on the tinfoil hat on and refer you to the 45 declared of the communist party. Goal number fifteen actually calls for the capturing of both political parties in the United States while goal number seventeen stresses the importance of controlling schools and putting the communist party line in the text books.

In my opinion folks, this is the only viable explanation for what we are witnessing in this nation. We have reached a point where there is no room for any honest discussion about anything as an air of mistrust keeps people on edge, and opposition to the Left's "definitive morality" equates to nothing less than hatred and bigotry. And this is the gravest threat that we face. Until cultural and political elites face the reality of Islam and the jihadic doctrine, instead of those destroying those of us who do, we are …… sitting ducks.

How many other moderates are funding the slaughter, oppression and subjugation that Islam mandates? The Holy Land Foundation trial in the US showed us that nearly all high-profile Muslim groups in the US were funding terror groups.

In A Culture Of Corruption And Lies With No Accountability - What Message Are We Sending

In A Culture Of Corruption And Lies With No Accountability - What Message Are We Sending To Our Children? : Freedom Outpost:

"What kind of message are we sending to our children here? That it's OK to do whatever you want, and even if you do get caught, you can just lie your way out of it , because there will be absolutely no consequences for your actions ?  I know that Christianity has been all but outlawed, but isn't there a story in the Bible about two cities; one called Sodom and the other Gomorrah, and in that story God ultimately punished those who were wicked and unrepentant? Isn't that what morality is all about, telling the truth and taking responsibility for your actions and learning from your mistakes?

I realize that concepts like truth, justice and the American way are a bit old fashioned, but have we, as a people, strayed so far, that we don't even bother to try to act responsibly anymore? Given those examples, I wonder what will happen to us. A society that has no morals has no future.

If things right now are allowed to continue unabated, what will be our future as a people and a nation?

I shudder even to think about it.

Stinkburgers and meanwiches, Media Complicity, A Divisive President

Stinkburgers and meanwiches | Human Events:

Never mind the field day they would have had, mocking someone like George Bush for regressing to third-grade insults; they’d have blown their stacks if he used sophisticated insults.  Obama’s not engaging with the ideas of his opponents – he no more understands those ideas than a small child understands how an internal combustion engine works.  He doesn’t want you to understand them, either.  You’re supposed to obey him, and the decaying, insolvent, lollipops-for-everyone system he represents, without question… until the day it all comes crashing down, violence spills into the streets, and you look around to find no trace of Barack Obama or his pals.  All you need to know, the President is saying, is that he weally weally wuvs you, but those mean old Wepubwicans with their cruel spreadsheets want you to suffer.  They’re not making proposals in good faith, based on what they believe is best for America; only Barack Obama does that.  They say dignity requires freedom, and freedom demands responsibility, but that’s all just a ruse to keep you from the free money you deserve, so they can have a good laugh while they watch you starve.
But the media’s not going to say anything about how divisive Obama is being here, or how divisive he was when he said on Tuesday that the only reason for opposing ObamaCare is a heartless desire to take away peoples’ health insurance.  Instead, media Praetorian Guards closed ranks around Obama, demanding that everyone instantly forget his childish outburst… except, of course, for those lapdogs seeking extra credit by trying to help him spread his “stinkburgers and meanwiches” slander.
The bottom line is that Obama must be given a free hand to say whatever vile thing he needs, to get his audience worked up, without any fallout or hit to his credibility whatsoever.  The same people who order you to forget about his stinkburgers today will gladly write editorials next Tuesday praising him for his bipartisan outreach, and wondering why crabby old obstructionist Republicans refuse to work with the man who keeps describing them as inhuman monsters.  Meanwhile, any Republican who voices the slightest suspicion about whatever dark motivations might lurk in Obama’s heart – let alone openly insulting him as a callous, greedy political opportunist who cares more about accumulating power than doing what’s right for the country – will be instantly denounced as a wild-eyed extremist.  Nice rules of engagement, if you happen to be on the right side of them.

How We Lost Marriage

How We Lost Marriage | American Clarion:

"In truth, the care of children and the examples and expectations we set for upcoming generations are of VITAL importance.  But that case requires too much heavy lifting for those, including self-styled conservatives, who would rather show how open and enlightened and forward-thinking they are.  Just note the tepid support for Arizona’s Religious Freedom bill when it came under massive public assault recently.

In our defense, I can only cite the massive, seemingly insurmountable inertia of art & entertainment and a judiciary and political culture that leans overwhelmingly to the left.  Most traditional-minded Americans are too busy living their lives and simply lack the means to save western civilization that leftists have in destroying it.  Our immunity to lewdness and depravity has evaporated, and many certainly respond to pollsters with “If I tell you I support gay marriage, will you shut up about it?”

Thus the deterioration of Judeo-Christian America continues with only marginal opposition.  Our epitaph will be the same, whether the official cause of death is crimes of commission or crimes of negligent disregard.

Moral Corruption at the OECD: Using Dishonesty to Advance the Statist Agenda | International Liberty:

"James Madison famously observed that “if men were angels, no government would be necessary.” But he also understood that men do not become angels once they win elections, become police, or are appointed to positions of power. Our constitutional order strikes an elegant balance between policing the non-angels outside of government and constraining the non-angels within government, setting the ambitions of the three branches against one another and subdividing the legislative branch against itself. …Adam Smith’s formula for prosperity — “peace, easy taxes, and a tolerable administration of justice” — is the very modest ambition that conservatives aim for. Limited government is the tool by which government can be made to do good without necessarily being good, or being composed of good men. …The corruptibility of the political classes is fenced in by limiting the power of the political classes per se. You cannot expand the scope and scale of government without expanding in parallel the scope and scale of government corruption.

The mythical lawgiver of Sparta, Lycurgus, Xenophon tells us, forbade physical intimacy between the boy and his admirer, categorizing homosexuality with other crimes like incest. Like Plato, Xenophon considers sexual relations between men a depravity that all right-thinking men should abhor as much as they would incest.

And all this time you thought it was only “repressed” Christians that weren’t enlightened enough to see the supposed harmlessness of homosexuality."

I specifically have in mind his famous chapter 10, “Why the Worst Get on Top,” the central point of which is that the more detailed the plan the State seeks to impose on its citizens, the more ruthless and expedient its executioners must be if it is to succeed. This is why the most ruthless and unprincipled have the advantage in the struggle for political power. What separates President Obama, or any other recent American president, from someone like President Vladimir Putin of Russia is a matter of degree, not of kind. To paraphrase Lord Acton, not only does power tend to corrupt, but absolute power tends to attract the absolutely corrupt. Frank Underwood, the protagonist of the television drama House of Cards, is an excellent, though of course fictional, illustration of exactly that tendency.

Charles Koch’s fight against crony capitalism and for a free society

Charles Koch’s fight against crony capitalism and for a free society | AEIdeas:

"Instead of fostering a system that enables people to help themselves, America is now saddled with a system that destroys value, raises costs, hinders innovation and relegates millions of citizens to a life of poverty, dependency and hopelessness. This is what happens when elected officials believe that people’s lives are better run by politicians and regulators than by the people themselves. Those in power fail to see that more government means less liberty, and liberty is the essence of what it means to be American. Love of liberty is the American ideal.

If more businesses (and elected officials) were to embrace a vision of creating real value for people in a principled way, our nation would be far better off—not just today, but for generations to come. I’m dedicated to fighting for that vision. I’m convinced most Americans believe it’s worth fighting for, too.

It's A Myth That GOP Is Party Of The Wealthy

It's A Myth That GOP Is Party Of The Wealthy - Investors.com:

"Right after the Supreme Court's decision to lift limits on campaign contributions, Democrats and their left-wing supporters assaulted the decision as a boon to Republicans, "the party of the rich."

This of course is part of a far-wider narrative — slavishly repeated by largely unquestioning liberal media — that the GOP outspends Democrats on campaigns thanks to big-buck donors like the billionaire Koch brothers.

But, as it turns out, that's a lie — as big a lie, in fact, as "you can keep your insurance," "you can keep your doctor" and "ObamaCare will bend the cost curve down."

By almost every measure, in fact, it's the Democrats, not the Republicans, who are the party of the rich.

By Surrendering Control Of Internet, Obama Surrenders Our Freedoms

By Surrendering Control Of Internet, Obama Surrenders Our Freedoms - Investors.com:

"Obama's decision would reflect American appeasement — a betrayal of our own liberties in the name of empowering nations with long traditions of censoring their citizens and imposing government control over their media outlets.

Of course such a policy is eerily consistent with Obama's views on net neutrality as well as his Federal Communication Commission's (FCC) recent efforts to place monitors in U.S. newsrooms — to say nothing of his Justice Department's surveillance of professional journalists.

Speaking Loudly While Carrying No Stick

Speaking Loudly While Carrying No Stick - The American Interest:

"At the moment, while there is a consensus about stopping about Russia, the political Left refuses to maintain a force capable of doing so, and neither the Left nor the Right has the appetite for getting into a land war. Functionally, the United States has two paths forward: It can either shrink its commitments to match its reduced posture, or it can ramp up its force to meet its expanding responsibilities, understanding that it may need to use them, if Russia forces NATO to show its hand. Expanding NATO to new members without committing the resources and political will to defend them is not only inconsistent, but also dangerous and irresponsible. Tragically, this appears to be exactly the course the Obama Administration wants to take: expanding U.S. defense obligations while simultaneously slashing its capacity to fulfill them. The Administration that came into office promising a “smarter” approach to foreign policy would instead be guilty of doing the converse of Roosevelt’s adage: speaking loudly while retiring the stick.

Mr. Obama, maybe folks are mad because you’re a liar

Mr. Obama, maybe folks are mad because you’re a liar | The Matt Walsh Blog:

"I’m going with the latter. You lie. That’s all you do. You’re a liar.

I know, in this day and age of ‘civil discourse,’ we aren’t allowed use words like ‘liar’ anymore. It’s such a harsh and startling term. It upsets people. It makes them sad. It makes them feel all icky inside. But, Lord forgive me, I’d rather call a spade a spade and a liar a liar — as opposed to your strategy, which is to call a spade a tortoise, or an apple, or a three toed sloth, or anything but a spade.

I would label you pathological — as deception seems to drip like putrid sewage from every single word and phrase that escapes your lips — but I know your lies are calculated, not compulsive. You can’t be a pathological liar for the same reason that an effective diamond thief can’t be a kleptomaniac. Your lie, like his heist, requires careful planning and plotting. You’re very aware of the truth, which is what makes you so adept at avoiding it.

The staggering costs of Obamacare

The staggering costs of Obamacare | Power Line:

"Obamacare will cost large U.S. employers between $4,800 to $5,900 per employee.

Large employers expect overall Obamacare-related cost increases of between $163 million and $200 million per employer, or an increase of 4.3 percent in 2016 and 8.4 percent in 2023 over and above what they would otherwise be spending.

Based on these data, the total cost of Obamacare to all large U.S. employers will amount to between $151 billion and $186 billion, or 5.9 percent more than what they would otherwise be spending.

Obama's Anti American Behavior

How Foreign Is Our Policy?: Part II - Thomas Sowell - Page full:

"Critics who say that President Obama is naive and inexperienced in foreign policy, and blame that for the many setbacks to American interests during this administration may be right. But it is by no means certain that they are.

Another and more disturbing possibility is that Barack Obama, in his citizen-of-the-world conception of himself, thinks that the United States already has too much power and needs to be deflated. Rush Limbaugh, Dinesh D'Souza and some other critics have seen Obama's repeated sacrifices of American national interests as deliberate.

Monstrous as that possibility might seem, it is consistent not only with many otherwise hard to explain foreign policy setbacks, but also consistent with Obama's having been raised, literally from childhood, with anti-American mentors, beginning with his mother. He continued to seek out such people as an adult.

The War on Poverty — $21 Trillion Later and Little to Show For It

The War on Poverty — $21 Trillion Later | FrontPage Magazine:

"The heart of the War on Poverty report is its observation that most federal poverty-alleviation programs are essentially useless or incapable of having their impact measured in the real world.

The study observes that in 1965, the poverty rate was 17.3 percent. In 2012, it was 15 percent. This means taxpayers blew a staggering $20.7 trillion over the last half century in order to achieve a paltry 2.3 percentage point decrease in poverty.

Benghazi Lies Exposed

Benghazi Lies Exposed: CIA Officer Reveals Team Obama Mislead Public, There Was No Protest Before Bloody 9/11 Benghazi Assault « Frugal Café Blog Zone:

"The disinfecting light of truth is being cast upon the Obama administration’s disturbing lies, stonewalling, and cover-ups of the bloody Benghazi assault at the U.S. consulate on September 11, 2012, which left four Americans dead.
According to new, damaging information that is finally coming to the forefront by a CIA official, there was no protest preceding the attack. This, despite the Obama administration’s insistence that there was. The non-existent protests, according to Team Obama, were sparked by Muslim outrage against a Yahoo video that mocked Mohammad.
It appears that Pres. Barack Obama and former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton ignored the truth when they and their team created the deceptive talking points for the American public — and for the world — about the massacre. UN Ambassador Susan Rice appeared on five Sunday major news shows on September 16, 2012 to perpetuate the deception.
And to keep Obama safe until after the November presidential election.

Not only is he a cheesy liar, everything he has done, domestic and foreign, has failed, sometimes to extraordinary degrees. The domestic part is bad enough, but at least that might be reparable.  The foreign is another matter.  The world is spinning out of control.  Who knows where that will end?

How Islamofascists use ‘Islamophobia’ to stifle debate, limit free speech

Blazing Cat Fur: How Islamofascists use ‘Islamophobia’ to stifle debate, limit free speech:

"The term ‘Islamophobia’ was created by Islamofacists and their elitist progressive allies in higher education and the media to stifle and shut down debate about the true, barbaric nature of Islam and to attack and very successfully minimize free speech throughout the free world. It was a brilliant creation, implying that any speech that is not in direct praise of Islam is both racist and is so out of the mainstream that having those thoughts constitutes a mental disorder."

The Formerly White City of St. Louis

The Thinking Housewife › The Formerly White City of St. Louis:

"The degradation by blacks of what once was a peaceful, civilized neighborhood is a law of nature as predictable as day following night.  In his article “To Chicago, With Love”, John Bartlow Martin wrote in 1960:  “Half a million Negroes live in a jungle of poverty and crime” in the “South Side’s Black Ghetto”.  [ Saturday Evening Post, Oct. 15, 1960, p. 19 ]

What he left unsaid was that the reason for that is that blacks will make a jungle out of any town, neighborhood, or city if they are permitted to do so.  I have seen them do this to five neighborhoods in St. Louis where my friends and I lived, played, and roamed at leisure when we were children more than fifty years ago and without ever any concern for our security.  Because of stupid white men and jungle savage blacks, I am now a stranger in those very neighborhoods in my own home town.

College Admins Still Getting Big Raises

College Admins Still Getting Big Raises - The American Interest:

"The proliferation of unnecessary administrative positions has played a key role in driving up tuition, using resources that could be better spent on the core mission of teaching. At a time when schools are facing financial pressure from declining enrollments and shrinking tuition, one would think that they would be looking at ways to cut back on administrative bloat. Instead, many colleges are doing the opposite, increasing the number of administrative positions and raising their salaries either as much as or more than the professors who work in the classroom.

Islamophobia in action? 'Honor Diaries' screening shut down by CAIR

Islamophobia in action? 'Honor Diaries' screening shut down by CAIR | Fox News:

"The danger in allowing a group like CAIR to strong-arm a university into canceling an important screening is two fold.

First, it becomes our duty as a society to never allow the ideology of one group to overpower the rights of another just by throwing around an overused, loaded word: ‘Islamophobic.’

Americans have become extremely tolerant of varying opinions, religions, philosophies, etc. We are careful not to offend and alienate. But what will political correctness cost us as a society? To what degree is political correctness no longer correct but used just as a weapon to censor and control the dialogue?
