The American people fear they are losing their place and authority in the daily, unwinding drama of American history. They feel increasingly alienated from their government. And alienation, again, is often followed by deep animosity, and animosity by the breaking up of things. If our leaders were farsighted not only for themselves but for the country, they would fix the border.

Faced with losing Congress, the Democrats want to make Puerto Rico a state whether the people want it or not. The Democrats would get two new senators, new congressmen and a campaign issue.
Murdock has more of Obama's promises that are at war with reality. The more we learn about this monstrosity, the more it will be seen for the big screw up that it is. At that point it will be ripe for repeal.
Showalter reports, almost unbelievably: "Whatever the excuse, 75% of the fresh water that has historically irrigated California is now being washed to the open sea. For farmers in the southwest part of the valley, last year's cutoff amounted to 90%."
Alluding to other elements of Obama's Quincy speech earlier this week, Michelle observes that we have a president who presumes to know when you have earned "enough," who believes that only those who provide what he deems "good" products and services should "keep on making it," and who has determined that the role of American entrepreneurs is not to pursue their own self-interest, but to fulfill their "core" responsibility as dutiful growers of the collective economy. Michelle concludes: "That famous mock-up poster of Obama as the creepy socialist Joker never seemed more apt."
Our nation is at a crossroads. Will we be a socialist nation that enslaves it’s citizens to oppressive, draconian laws, regulations and taxes? Or will we reach back to the days of our founding and a belief that all men should be free? Unlike the Civil War, we are battling with principles and ideas rather than guns and cannon fire. Let’s hope that the Civil War did indeed end slavery in this nation and that the Union as envisioned by our nation’s founders will survive.
When signing his health reform bill in March, President Obama promised it would “bring down health care costs for families and businesses and governments”. Now, rigorous analysis by top officials in his own administration exposes the president’s promise as a fraud.
Mr. Obama is fueling greater ideological, political and racial polarization. Not since the Civil War have Americans been so divided. He is laying the groundwork for a possible race war. Welcome to Mr. Obama's fascist America.

A constitutional republic that had endured for centuries was now breaking down. The signs were everywhere.

Our president is a moral relativist. So we may expect that he doesn’t take very seriously the idea, as state in the Declaration of Independence, that there are absolutes. That we have God given rights that precede government and that the job of government is to secure them.
Surprising documents made available to this author reveal that Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoi has a huge financial stake in companies likely to profit from the Obama administration’s “green” policies.
Just secure the border. Because we don’t trust the government, at all – so, any attempt to do anything along side or instead of border security will be viewed as a slap in the face as well as a dereliction of duty. The government is already overwhelmingly unpopular – something like this would be just what is needed to turn a big year of political change in to a revolutionary, political tsunami.

The economic report released last week by Health and Human Services, which indicated that President Barack Obama’s health care "reform" law would actually increase the cost of health care and impose higher costs on consumers, had been submitted to the office of HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius more than a week before the Congressional votes on the bill, according to career HHS sources, who added that Sebelius’s staff refused to review the document before the vote was taken.
"The reason we were given was that they did not want to influence the vote," says an HHS source. "Which is actually the point of having a review like this, you would think."
Public health groups want Uncle Sam to start separating us from salt for our own good -- along with saturated fat and sugar. Uncle Sam is listening -- and doing. Call it the blanding of America. Or call it another blow by the nanny state for freedom -- freedom from our undisciplined appetites. Freedom from personal responsibility. Freedom from choice. Why, even freedom from freedom.
It is not politically correct, but it has to be said. The impetus to furious objections to the new Arizona law that makes it a state crime to be in the United States illegally is primarily an effort by the organized Latino community to expand its political base and thus power.
One of the most reflexive responses of the left to any social problem is to blame under-funded education. What the left means by this, of course, is not really education but indoctrination, which is the primary purpose of public education and college education in America today. The vast transfer of wealth from parents and taxpayers to the public schools and universities is one of the most regressive sorts of social tariff in our society.

Comeuppance: Obama’s Own Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Releases Devastating Report on Obamacare | NewsReal Blog
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has released a report detailing dire outcomes for the healthcare reform bill, namely, that it will increase healthcare costs, cause seniors to lose Medicare coverage, and decrease the amount of healthcare providers willing to participate in the Medicare system.
The clinical treatment system run by the National Cancer Institute has become so burdened with bureaucracy and paperwork that even the Editors of The New York Times are complaining
It is time to move forward. Those who advocate for big government solutions for social issues need to understand that the nation, and their cause, will be better served by embracing true conservatism. As President Ronald Reagan famously said, “government is not the solution to our problem; government is the problem.”
In the growing gloom of world politics, it’s a bit of good news that Iran has dropped its bid for a seat on the United Nations Human Rights Council
Conservatives love the wilderness and appreciate the importance of clean air, land, and water just as much as lefties do -- and even more so, if measured by the clean-up efforts of their respective protest movements. While it is laudable to ""protect the environment" of this great nation, the most effective means of doing it are misunderstood at best, and misrepresented at worst.
This could be an even larger threat to private property and federalism than the EPA’s decision to classify carbon dioxide as a pollutant. The original act specified “navigable” waters as the definition of the limitation for the Interstate Commerce Clause, a reasonable if somewhat still wide parameter. Eliminating that condition would put any body of water, no matter how small, under the authority of Washington — as well as the lands adjacent to it.
Obama does want to destroy the U.S.A. That Obama thinks his left-wing ideas will later bring a rebirth is meaningless when reviewing the consequences of his “cure” for what he thinks ails America, a cure that will surely kill the patient.

American taxpayers are witnessing an unprecedented full-frontal attack on free enterprise, business, innovation, invention, creativity, productivity and entrepreneurialism. This is a misguided strategy from elected officials. At its core it is also an attack on employment.
If you want more jobs, stop Washington from gobbling up all the money and let the surplus of incoming capital do its work.
He goes on to elaborate on how this international crisis has been orchestrated by none other than Pres. Barack Obama who has directed his Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to make statements that are “outrageous and hostile and seek to undermine the legitimacy of the State of Israel.”

auto giant was only able to repay its bailout money by dipping into a separate

The underlying criticism is that cap and trade, simply put, is far
too expensive; particularly during a time when our national debt, fiscal
deficit, and unemployment levels are still climbing. In addition to the vast
scientific uncertainty that characterizes cap
and trade backed science, the widely disseminated consensus has been that
cap and trade’s subsequent effects on our domestic economy would unequivocally
cripple industry in the United States.
Yet it is indisputable that sustained economic growth and prosperity
benefit all citizens. Free-market capitalism has proven to help the most people
achieve personal fulfillment, creates the most opportunities, hires the most
people, and provides the economic engine for life, liberty, and the pursuit of

The notion that the primitive monsters of the Taliban, Hamas, al-Qaeda, and the like will become pro-America — or just stop attacking America — if our nation weakens its support of Israel betrays an ignorance of evil that is frightening.
